Learn to play Bridge

Bridge For All

Congratulations on deciding to learn to play bridge and joining over 100 million people all over the world who play the best card game ever invented.

It is totally absorbing and stimulating, played by young and old alike.

Whatever level you reach you can be sure of many enjoyable hours at the bridge table.

You can teach someone to play snap in two minutes. Within half an hour they will be bored.  Bridge is not like that. There's a lifetime of fascination and a lifetime of new learning. Just when you think you know how to play, whole new areas will open up before you, so you never stop improving.

My name is Garry Towns. I am a member of the EBU (English Bridge Union).

I am a member of EBTA (English Bridge Teachers Association), an EBED (English Bridge Education and Development) club teacher, and I teach using EBED certified material.

I follow the syllabus of the English Bridge Union's "Bridge For All" program.

Teaching is best done in small groups: typically of four students.

My teaching will be arranged to suit the level/ability of each individual and their aims.

This can range from absolute beginners, to existing players who want to improve aspects of their bidding or play.

Students will have one year's membership of the English Bridge Union, which includes access to their member services, and a regular online bridge magazine called Discovery, which is aimed at new players.
